 Commonly asked questions

How long should I feed my dog a long lasting bone?

For long lasting chews, we generally recommend supervised chew sessions of around 30 minutes. You can choose to let your dog chew for longer, but extended sessions may increase the risk of jaw fatigue or overworking the jaw.

How long should a dog chew last?

There isn't one answer but one thing to remember is that these are natural chews. They're not nylon, rawhide or indestructible.

The exact same chew might last one dog 20 minutes and another dog several sessions.

It depends on:

  • Your dog's size
  • Their jaw strength
  • How aggressively they chew
  • The size and density of the chew
  • Whether they gnaw slowly or try to demolish it

Should dogs be left alone with long-lasting chews?

Absolutely not.

Always supervise chew time and remove the chew when it becomes small enough to swallow.
